Adhesives for manufacturing and laying luxury vinyl flooring (LVT)

Luxury vinyl flooring is becoming increasingly popular. The PVC wear layer is only a few millimeters thick and available in various designs and on different materials such as HDF, PVC, WPC, etc. Bonding it poses several challenges in terms of the right adhesive to use. KLEIBERIT has engineered a new class of adhesives that combines all the required properties: excellent wetting on all carrier and decor materials, good resistance to plasticizers, and ideal FlatLamination processing. Our 716 and 706 reactive hotmelt series have been specifically designed for LVT manufacturing with FlatLamination and have excellent bonding properties.

Full-surface installation of LVT flooring requires meticulous workmanship and the right adhesive. We recommend STP-based adhesives for this purpose. They adhere to almost all materials without needing pre-treatment and provide excellent results. They are also easy to use and, due to their elasticity, provide footfall sound insulation.

Installing LVT on screed

Screed is considered an absorbent subfloor. We recommend using our STP KLEIBERIT 583.5 adhesive for this purpose. It bonds to almost all subsurfaces and is classified as very low-emission according to EMICODE. It is best applied to the subsurface with a spatula; the vinyl flooring is then placed on top. The long open time makes for easy installation.

Installing LVT on stone

We recommend using our KLEIBERIT 583.5 STP adhesive for laying LVT flooring on absorbent and non-absorbent stone subfloors. It has strong bonding properties for all kinds of subsurfaces, is very easy to use, and its elasticity provides additional footfall sound insulation.KLEIBERIT 583.5 is EMICODE-certified and considered to be very low-emission. It is easy to apply with a spatula and the open time provides enough scope for stress-free and safe fitting.

Installing LVT on wood

Wood, OSB and chipboard are common subfloors for LVT flooring. We recommend using our low-emission KLEIBERIT 583.5 STP adhesive, which provides durable bonds and easy processing.
